Football Recap: Harnett Central Keeps Overhills' Under Pressure + How To Watch

If Harnett Central was feeling good fresh off their 55-7 takedown of Northwood last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans took a 34-19 bruising from the Overhills Jaguars on Thursday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Harnett Central lost, don't look at Dj Brown. Despite the final result, he picked up 155 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Brown also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles and defending one pass. Another player making a difference was Koby Howard, who threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt.

Even if they lost, Harnett Central's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 4.5 sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Trent Haney, Charlie Stedman, and Paul Hayes, who each picked up one sack apiece. Harnett Central got some further help from Haney: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Harnett Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Overhills, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
