Basketball Game Preview: St. Raphael Academy Saints vs. Westerly Bulldogs

The St. Raphael Academy Saints will square off against the Westerly Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Raphael Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Monday, St. Raphael Academy got the win against Coventry by a conclusive 47-24.

Meanwhile, Westerly waltzed into their contest on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They took down the Lancers 56-40. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked eighth in Rhode Island, while the Lancers are ranked 87th in Connecticut), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Raphael Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Westerly, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

St. Raphael Academy was dealt a bruising 90-45 loss at the hands of Westerly in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can St. Raphael Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
