Softball Recap: Groton-Dunstable Takes a Loss

Groton-Dunstable was the 3-1 winner over North Middlesex Regional when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders fell 8-4 to the Patriots on Thursday.

Groton-Dunstable saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlin Haggerty, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Priya Fiore was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Groton-Dunstable's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for North Middlesex Regional, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Looking ahead, Groton-Dunstable will head out to challenge Algonquin Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Middlesex Regional, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Nashoba Regional at 4:00 p.m. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
