Recap: LaPoynor Flyers vs. Kaufman Lions
After a string of three wins, the LaPoynor Flyers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kaufman.
Kaufman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kiersten Thomas out in front who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aubre Prox, who scored 12 points along with 7 assists and 7 rebounds.
LaPoynor's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Kaufman, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
LaPoynor will be playing in front of their home fans against Chapel Hill on Friday. Kaufman will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Fairfield at 5:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Fairfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kaufman in Texas (Fairfield is ranked 57th, while Kaufman is ranked 549th).
