Basketball Game Preview: Brownstown Bombers vs. Casey-Westfield Warriors

The Brownstown Bombers and the Casey-Westfield Warriors will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Brownstown is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Brownstown is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Neoga 78-27. The Bombers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Brownstown found their leader in sophomore Dayana Haslett, who posted 34 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Haslett has scored at least a third of Brownstown's points. Another player making a difference was Madi Miller, who scored 15 points.

Meanwhile, Casey-Westfield was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 27-21 to North Clay/Clay City. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brownstown's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.5 points. As for Casey-Westfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Everything came up roses for Brownstown against Casey-Westfield in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as the squad secured a 54-22 win. In that game, Brownstown amassed a halftime lead of 33-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
