Baseball Recap: Oberlin Comes Up Short at Home Against Danbury

Oberlin unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 8-4 to the Danbury Lakers on Tuesday. The Phoenix were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lakers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Oberlin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ehab Abuhamda, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.

Danbury has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Oberlin will venture away from home to square off against Mapleton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Danbury, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Lakota at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give the Lakers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
