Football Recap: Nick Diamond Key Part of Team Effort in Raiders Win

Hun's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 31-14 victory over The First Academy Royals. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Hun got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nick Diamond out in front who rushed for 103 yards and a pair of scores. What's more, Diamond posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August. Lukas Prock was another key passer, throwing for 311 yards and two TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes.

Hun's run defense was locked in: The First Academy could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Luke Wafle for the heroic effort on defense: he. Hun didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.2.

Hun's defense didn't let Landen Holley, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Wafle with five. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why The First Academy lost, don't look at Demetrice McCray. Despite the final result, he rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 30 receiving yards.

Hun's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for The First Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Hun will welcome IMG Academy at 8:00 p.m. on November 1. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Raiders 14.9, the Ascenders 13.1) so any points scored will be well earned. As for The First Academy, they will head out to challenge Lakeland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Royals will need to watch out since the Dreadnaughts have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven games.
