Football Recap: South Point Piles Up the Points Against Ambassador Christian School

South Point came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Ambassador Christian School Lions 48-18. With the Red Raiders ahead 41-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Kaveaun Pless had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 217 yards and one touchdown while picking up 13.6 yards per carry. Those 217 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jesse Ledford also helped with two TDs in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Point was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 215 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.

South Point didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Tucker McWhirter led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Cayden Rumph got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Ambassador Christian School lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Weston Michalak, who threw for 187 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also caught one score.

South Point's record is now 8-2. As for Ambassador Christian School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4-1 record this season.

As of now, neither South Point nor Ambassador Christian School have any future games scheduled.
