The Bruce Trojans won the last time they faced the Houlka Wildcats, and things went their way on Monday too. Bruce took down the Wildcats 64-45.
Laken Corbitt was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 40 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. A'toria Knox was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Houlka's loss came despite strong showings from Destiny Foster and Madison Martin. Foster almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, while Martin scored eight points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Olivia Halford, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Even though they lost, Houlka smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bruce only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Bruce's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Houlka, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-20.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bruce will take on the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ingomar knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully the Trojans likes a good challenge. As for Houlka, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Seminoles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
