Boylan Catholic scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Belvidere Bucs by a score of 14-13. The Titans have struggled against the Bucs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Janae Burke made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Maddy Kiley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Boylan Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Belvidere, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Boylan Catholic will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Freeport at 5:00 p.m. As for Belvidere, they will head out to square off against Harlem at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Bucs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
