Basketball Recap: Amarillo Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After losing to Allen the last time they met, Amarillo decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Amarillo Sandies came out on top against the Allen Eagles by a score of 64-57 on Friday. Given the Sandies' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Eagles are ranked 124th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Amarillo and bumps their season record up to 19-3. As for Allen, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Amarillo will face off against Lubbock-Cooper at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Allen, they will head out on the road to challenge McKinney Boyd at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
