Basketball Recap: Battle Creek Takes a Loss

Battle Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Loretto Mustangs and fell 78-14. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Mustangs are ranked 39th).

Ally Weathers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Loretto, putting up 27 points. Weathers' evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Libby Sanders, who posted 13 points.

Battle Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Loretto, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Battle Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Harpeth at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Loretto, they will challenge Summertown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Loretto sitting on three straight wins and Summertown on 11.
