Football Recap: Torrey Pines Comes Up Short

Torrey Pines saw some tournament action on Friday. They and the Newbury Park Panthers were almost perfectly matched up, but the Falcons suffered a 7-6 loss. The loss put an end to the Falcons' undefeated start to the season.

Torrey Pines didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Katie Flynn and Reese Rohrbach. Flynn is also crushing it when it comes to defended passes: she's defended at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Torrey Pines fell to 2-1. As for Newbury Park, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4.

Torrey Pines didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-6 victory against Marshall on the 22nd. As for Newbury Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-13 defeat against Classical Academy on the 22nd.
