Baseball Recap: Woodrow Wilson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jordan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodrow Wilson). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Jordan Panthers a 19-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Rudy Carlos, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Josh DiFiore also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Woodrow Wilson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.

Woodrow Wilson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Jordan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodrow Wilson will host Roosevelt at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bruins are facing the Rough Riders at the right time seeing as the Rough Riders are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Jordan, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cabrillo at 4:00 p.m.
