Meanwhile, Cedarville came up short against Posen on Tuesday and fell 16-12.
Shelby Sayles made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Smith, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Cedarville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for St. Ignace, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. St. Ignace has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Cedarville struggles in that department as they've averaged .521. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
