Basketball Recap: Fairview Comes Up Short

Fairview played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 85-50 loss at the hands of the Phelps Hornets. The Eagles were down 63-38 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Phelps found their leader in sophomore Tyler Weddington, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 24 boards. Weddington's evening made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Knox Wallace, who went 7 for 8 en route to 15 points.

Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Phelps, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Fairview has already played their next game, a 66-41 defeat against Glenwood on the 25th. As for Phelps, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 88-71 loss against Raceland on the 25th.
