Recap: Van Horn Eagles vs. Rankin Red Devils
The Van Horn Eagles were the 46-32 winner over the Rankin Red Devils when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Van Horn was dealt a 60-26 defeat at the hands of Rankin on Tuesday.
Amy Garcia and Taylor Martinez certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Garcia scored 6 points along with 13 rebounds and 5 steals, while Martinez scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Martinez scored a full 46.2% of Van Horn's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Van Horn's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Rankin, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3.
Van Horn will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 8:00 a.m. Rankin will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Iraan at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th.
