Baseball Recap: Etna Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Etna had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Stevenson Pirates 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Etna gave Emmett Stacher the start and clearly made the right call: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Kyle Fowle picked up the save, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

At the plate, Clayton Harris was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Etna's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Stevenson, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 21-9 record.

As of now, neither Etna nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
