Basketball Recap: Winamac Skates Past North White with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Winamac on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the North White Vikings out of the water with a 64-34 final score. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.

Winamac's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaybin Hines, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Hines a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Justin Potthoff, who went 5-for-9 en route to 14 points.

Winamac was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North White only five assists.

When it comes to explaining why North White lost, don't look at Fernando Gomez. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ephraim Denton, who scored five points.

Winamac's record is now 12-8. As for North White, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Winamac will challenge Pioneer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pioneer has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for North White, they will square off against West Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season.
