Mitchell is a perfect 5-0 against Washington since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bluejackets will square off against the Hatchets at 6:00 p.m. Mitchell will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, Mitchell made easy work of Crawford County and carried off a 14-2 victory. The Bluejackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by nine runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Washington's offense. They came up short against Boonville on Tuesday, falling 7-0. The loss continues a trend for the Hatchets in their meetings with the Pioneers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Mitchell, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Mitchell got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2023 against Washington by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bluejackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
