Baseball Game Preview: McGavock Raiders vs. Cheatham County Central Cubs

The McGavock Raiders will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Cheatham County Central Cubs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

McGavock is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 19-8 to Franklin Road Academy, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Montay Keel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Montario Ostine, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Cheatham County Central's offense. They lost 10-0 to Sycamore on Tuesday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cubs were not able to get on the board.

McGavock's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cheatham County Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
