Mount Airy Wins 23rd-Straight Thanks to DJ Joyce

Mount Airy picked up their 23rd consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to DJ Joyce. Joyce turned in his biggest game of the season, rushing for 72 yards and two touchdowns.

Mount Airy's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Joyce and Mount Airy will venture away from home to take on South Stokes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Martin Came Up Big in Mount Airy's 28-13 Victory

Mount Airy picked up their 23rd consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Taeshon Martin. Martin was unstoppable, rushing for 182 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 116 rushing yards dating back to last season.

If the past is any indication, Martin could be in store for another big game when he takes on South Stokes on Friday. Martin rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Sauras duked it out back in October of 2023.

A Season-Best Effort from Jymir Billips Leads Starmount over North Stokes

Jymir Billips produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Starmount to the win on Friday. Billips rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.

Unfortunately for North Stokes, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Billips. Billips picked up 58 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Vikings duked it out back in September of 2023.

Kinston Crater Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Starmount got the W thanks in part to Kinston Crater playing the best football he has all season. Crater rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 59 receiving yards and a touchdown.

North Stokes had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Crater it was a similar story. Crater rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Vikings duked it out back in September of 2023.
