Basketball Recap: IDEA Montopolis Takes a Loss

IDEA Montopolis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 48-0 defeat at the hands of the IDEA Bluff Springs Bats. IDEA Montopolis was not able to make up for their loss to IDEA Bluff Springs from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Leading IDEA Bluff Springs to victory were Je'Nise Solano and Samantha Saucedo-Palencia. Solano went 10-for-14 on her way to 23 points and eight steals, while Saucedo-Palencia went 9-for-19 to rack up 21 points and five steals. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which Saucedo-Palencia has scored at least a third of IDEA Bluff Springs' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amber Heney, who posted two points and five steals.

IDEA Montopolis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for IDEA Bluff Springs, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-7.

IDEA Montopolis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for IDEA Bluff Springs, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-18 loss against Valor South Austin on the 10th.
