Softball Recap: Moravia Wins Going Away Against Groton

Moravia got themselves on the board against Groton on Monday, but Groton never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Red Hawks. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Moravia got a massive performance out of Lashley Heredia Castio, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Heredia Castio also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Alexis Freier was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Moravia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Moravia is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Groton, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
