Softball Game Preview: North Stanly Comets vs. Mount Pleasant Tigers

The North Stanly Comets will venture away from home to challenge the Mount Pleasant Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Stanly is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Two weeks ago, North Stanly was able to grind out a solid win over Mount Pleasant, taking the game 6-3.

The team relied heavily on Leah Frick, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Breauna Speight, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

North Stanly is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Pleasant, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-8.
