Basketball Recap: Rincon/University Takes a Loss

Rincon/University lost against Sabino back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Rangers had to suffer through a 49-20 loss at the hands of the Sabercats. The game marked the Rangers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Sabino was led to victory by Alexis Jimenez and Chayil Combs. Jimenez went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points, while Combs shot 47% from the field to rack up 17 points. Jimenez is becoming a predictor of the Sabercats' success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 0-4 when she doesn't).

Rincon/University now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Sabino, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Rincon/University will venture away from home to square off against Queen Creek at 6:00 p.m. on December 5. As for Sabino, they will head out to challenge Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
