Baseball Recap: Peoria Panthers vs. Cactus Cobras

Peoria had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-13 to make it ten. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cactus Cobras. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cobras earlier this season, when they won 10-6.

Peoria saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominick Ramirez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Cactus, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-16 record this season. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-13 Peoria and 8-13 Westview (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.5% over those games).

On Cactus' side, Eli Torres made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Torres has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
