Baseball Recap: South Fork Cubs vs. St. Bernard's Crusaders

South Fork had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-13 to make it five. They lost 13-2 to the St. Bernard's Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, with their most recent loss being a 19-0 defeat on Tuesday.

As for St. Bernard's, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

For St. Bernard's part, Luke Brunton made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Brunton has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, St. Bernard's got a massive performance out of Mason Noel, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
