Soccer Game Preview: Pius X vs. Elkhorn

The Pius X Thunderbolts will challenge the Elkhorn Antlers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pius X is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Scotus as they made off with a 9-2 win. The victory was nothing new for Pius X as they're now sitting on 15 straight.

Their offense was hitting Scotus from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Ava Kolm led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Elkhorn faced Kearney Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Antlers' defense stepped up to hand the Stars a 5-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what Elkhorn needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Pius X's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Elkhorn, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.
