Basketball Recap: Lakeshore's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After flying high against Varnado on Saturday, Lakeshore came back down to earth. Lakeshore took a 75-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Covington Lions on Tuesday. Lakeshore's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Several Lakeshore players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Janssen, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Janssen is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Brice Howell was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine boards.

Lakeshore's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Covington, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Lakeshore wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-65 victory against Fontainebleau on the 10th. As for Covington, they will be taking part in a tournament against Mandeville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
