Softball Recap: D.C. Everest Takes Down Ranked Mosinee

D.C. Everest faced Mosinee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Evergreens' pitcher stepped up to hand the Indians a 3-0 shutout. Three seems to be a good number for the Evergreens as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The result came thanks to Addison Kluck's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sydney Spear was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. Mara Meverden was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

The win was the third in a row for D.C. Everest, bringing their record up to 23-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Mosinee, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6.

Coming up, D.C. Everest will welcome Wausau West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mosinee, they will venture away from home to square off against Rhinelander at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
