Preview: Hoke County vs. Westover
Hoke County will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Westover at 7:30 PM. If the game is anything like the 42-60 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
Hoke County found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 19-47 punch to the gut against South View last Friday. Hoke County were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 13-34.
Westover can thank their lucky stars for their win over Lumberton last week. The final score was a hard-fought 26-25.
Westover's victory lifted them to 1-1 while Hoke County's loss dropped them down to 0-2. Hoke County's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Westover defensive front that amassed 5.5 sacks against Lumberton, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
