Baseball Recap: Three Straight Road Victories for Easley

Easley had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Nation Ford on Monday. The Green Wave never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Green Wave in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Zach Jochimsen looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cooper Sears was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aaron Tolbert, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Easley pushed their record up to 13-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Nation Ford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season.

Easley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Nation Ford: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
