Soccer Game Preview: Fox Chapel vs. Butler

The Fox Chapel Foxes will venture away from home to challenge the Butler Golden Tornado at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fox Chapel's last seven matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Fox Chapel is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Pennsylvania's top teams: Seneca Valley, who was ranked fourth at the time (Fox Chapel was ranked fifth). The Foxes had just enough and edged out the Raiders 3-2. That's two games straight that Fox Chapel have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Butler's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of North Allegheny by a score of 1-0.

Fox Chapel pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Butler, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Fox Chapel skirted past Butler 2-1 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Foxes since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
