Thales Academy Apex falls despite strong effort from Nathan Purvis

While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, the Thales Academy Apex Titans were not quite the St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors's equal in the second half on Friday. The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Thales Academy Apex falling 56-41. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Thomas More Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Thales Academy Apex lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nathan Purvis. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Purvis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Zach Lehman was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

St. Thomas More Academy was led to victory by Joseph De Guzman and John Paul Mack. Thales Academy Apex will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Friendship Christian at 6:45 p.m. Hopefully Friendship Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday. As for St. Thomas More Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Neuse Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Allowing an average of 61.8 points per game, Neuse Christian Academy has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest.
