Basketball Recap: Galena Takes a Loss

Galena was the 66-50 winner over McQueen when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Galena Grizzlies fell just short of the McQueen Lancers by a score of 66-64 on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Grizzlies still had to take the loss.

It was another big night for Abram Carpenter, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds for McQueen. Carpenter is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Alex Hancock was another key player, putting up six points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Galena's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for McQueen, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galena will welcome Spanish Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for McQueen, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bishop Manogue at 7:30 p.m.
