Softball Game Preview: Lodi Rams vs. Hasbrouck Heights Aviators

The Lodi Rams will take on the Hasbrouck Heights Aviators at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Lodi comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Lodi is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 11-4 to Lyndhurst on Wednesday.

AnnaBella Lo Presti was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Briyah Nobles was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four contests, Hasbrouck Heights finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They fell just short of Wood-Ridge by a score of 4-2. The Aviators haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Maddy Connelly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Hasbrouck Heights saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie Riordan, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Riordan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another was Giuliana Terranova, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Lodi's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hasbrouck Heights, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Lodi was able to grind out a solid victory over Hasbrouck Heights in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-3. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Aviators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
