Silver extended their postseason success on Saturday against Lovington. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Fighting Colts have won 22 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Ariel Alvarado made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maria Ruelaz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Nemeth, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Silver is on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 22 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lovington, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 23-10 record.

As of now, neither Silver nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
