Victoria West came tearing into Friday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 57-49 victory over the Randle Lions. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Lions are ranked 701st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Randle still got an impressive performance from Alaysia Cook, who went 9 of 20 en route to 24 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Cook is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Gilmore, who posted eight points.

Victoria West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Randle, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Victoria West and Victoria East will meet in a classic East v. West matchup at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Victoria West is facing Victoria East at the right time seeing as Victoria East is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Randle, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Terry at 6:30 p.m. Randle is on a three-game streak of home wins, Terry a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
