Basketball Recap: Canon City's Winning Streak Snapped at 13 Games

Canon City and Northridge squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Canon City had to settle for second. They took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northridge Grizzlies. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Northridge found their leader in sophomore Sophia Carbajal, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 17 rebounds. Carbajal's big performance that evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Samantha Jackson, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points.

Canon City's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Northridge, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8.

Canon City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northridge, they will square off against Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Air Academy will roll in looking for their 24th straight victory, something Northridge surely won't give up without a fight.
