Basketball Recap: Breven Anderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grandview over Overland

Grandview was the 65-53 winner over Overland when they last played one another on February 5th, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the Grandview Wolves and the Overland Trailblazers didn't end well, with the Grandview Wolves falling 78-64. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grandview lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Breven Anderson, who en route to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Trevor Thomas, who to rack up 13 points and six boards.

Overland had a senior duo take command as Siraaj Ali on his way to 22 points and six assists and Dontae Graham en route to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Ali continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tj Manuel, who posted 16 points.

Grandview's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Overland, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-13.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Grandview will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Castle View at 7:00 p.m. Grandview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season. As for Overland, they will venture away from home to take on Broomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Broomfield knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Overland likes a good challenge.
