Football Game Preview: Winona Tigers vs. PURE Academy Royals + How To Watch

The Winona Tigers will square off against the PURE Academy Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winona knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully PURE Academy likes a good challenge.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. Winona snuck past Noxubee County with a 31-26 win. The victory continues a trend for Winona in their matchups with Noxubee County: they've now won three in a row.

Landon Crawford had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Dee Hudson, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask PURE Academy). They blew past Holly Springs, posting a 50-6 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
