Softball Game Preview: Academy of Careers & Exploration Eagle vs. Granite Hills Cougars

The Academy of Careers & Exploration Eagle will take on the Granite Hills Cougars in a tournament on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Academy of Careers & Exploration gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Desert Christian with a sharp 22-12 win.

Bethany White was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with six RBI, two triples, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Josephina Sanchez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Meanwhile, Granite Hills got the win against Hesperia on Thursday by a conclusive 16-6. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Scorpions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Academy of Careers & Exploration suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Granite Hills in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Academy of Careers & Exploration avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
