Baseball Recap: Wiseburn- Da Vinci Comes Up Short

Wiseburn- Da Vinci fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against West on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-5 to the West Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci got a good showing from Nathaniel Buendia, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Lonnie Jackson and Peyton Tate stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jackson went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Tate scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. That double marked the first that Jackson's hit this season. Another player making a difference was Edward Sanchez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for West, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Wiseburn- Da Vinci will head out to square off against Lawndale at 3:15 p.m. on March 6th. Wiseburn- Da Vinci is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season. As for West, they will take on Culver City at 3:15 p.m. on March 5th.
