Baseball Game Preview: Tipton Blue Devils vs. Logansport Berries

The Tipton Blue Devils will challenge the Logansport Berries at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tipton will be strutting in after a win while Logansport will be coming in after a defeat.

Tipton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over Clinton Central on Thursday. The game was the first time the Blue Devils have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since May 18, 2017.

Jack Roach made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Roach was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Nathan Hawkins was a standout: he scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Hussong, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Logansport suffered their biggest loss since April 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 14-1 to Lafayette Jefferson. The loss put an end to the Berries' undefeated start to the season.

Logansport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Deagan Kitchel, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Tipton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Logansport, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
