Baseball Game Preview: Northeast Vikings vs. Shawnee Mission West Vikings

Northeast are taking a road trip to take on Shawnee Mission West at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northeast has given up an average of 20.5 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Northeast's offense. They lost 24-0 to North Kansas City on Friday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was a classic East v. West duel when Shawnee Mission West duked it out with Shawnee Mission East on Thursday. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past the Lancers 1-0. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Vikings have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Shawnee Mission West is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
