Basketball Game Preview: Skowhegan River Hawks vs. Brewer Witches

The Skowhegan River Hawks will take on the Brewer Witches in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Skowhegan has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with nine straight defeats, while Brewer will come in with five straight wins.

Last Saturday, Skowhegan came up short against Brunswick and fell 42-34.

While Brewer didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Oceanside by a score of 55-47 on Saturday.

Brewer's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Skowhegan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Skowhegan didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Brewer in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 74-70 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Brewer's Charlie Brydges, who posted 25 points.
