Basketball Recap: Burns Comes Up Short

Burns lost to Vale back in March of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hilanders took a 49-31 bruising from the Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Hilanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Vikings are ranked eighth).

Burns' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-10. As for Vale, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Burns has already played their next contest (against Pleasant Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Vale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-29 victory against Nyssa on the 17th.
