Basketball Recap: Isaiah Sumner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Duncan over Valley

Duncan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Valley Pirates, falling 59-35. The Wildkats were down 51-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Duncan lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaiah Sumner, who posted eight points and ten rebounds. Sumner has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jared Kempton, who had seven points and 12 rebounds.

Duncan's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Valley, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4.

Duncan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-33 win against San Simon on the 17th. As for Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-60 defeat against Camp Verde on the 14th.
