Basketball Preview: Bainbridge Bearcats vs. Early County Bobcats

Bainbridge and the Bobcats are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Bainbridge Bearcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Early County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bainbridge has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while the Bobcats will arrive with six straight victories.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-31, which was the final score in Bainbridge's tilt against the Hawks on Saturday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bainbridge in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite their loss, Bainbridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ahleah Jones, who scored seven points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of DaNydia Campbell, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Early County strolled past the Indians with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 61-44.

Bainbridge's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Early County, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Bainbridge didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Bobcats when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 36-32 win. Will Bainbridge repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
